The following main subjects are offered:

 

 

Main subject voice (Duration 15 mins)

Additionally there are examinations in Compulsory subject piano, Compulsory subject music theory and Compulsory subject aural training.

 

 

 

Main subject instrument - apart from percussion (Duration 15 mins)

Additionally there are examinations in Compulsory subject piano, Compulsory subject music theory and Compulsory subject aural training.

 

 

 

Main subject percussion (Duration 15 mins)

Main subject elementary music pedagogy (EMP)

EMP studies are only possible in combination with an instrumental or vocal subject in the music teacher course of studies or in combination with a course of music studies from other study programmes (School Music, Artistic Training, Orchestra Music, Jazz/Popular Music, Church Music, Music for Primary or Secondary School Teachers). In combination with an instrumental or vocal subject in the Music Teacher course of studies, EMP can be taken as a main subject or additional main subject.

If EMP is chosen as a main subject, an instrumental subject or vocal subject has to be taken as an additional main subject with reduced requirements for the entrance and final examinations.

If EMP is chosen as an additional main subject, the instrumental subject or vocal subject is a main subject.

 

 

Group examination (Duration 60 mins.)

Contents:

 

Performance of a prepared song  (Duration: approx. 5 mins)

Folk-song or art song with or without own accompaniment

 

Teaching test(Duration 10 mins for each candidate)

Together with fellow candidates, a topic of choice is to be dealt with from the elementary music lesson, e.g. rehearsal of a song, play or dance, preparation of a song accompaniment, musical or movement based interpretation of a poem, musical realisation of a picture or a story, development of a text collage. The lesson should be planned for a certain age group, e.g. for pre-school or school children, teenagers or adults. The main subject instrument can be incorporated.

 

Oral examination (Duration 5 mins)

Reflection about contents, methodological approach and the pedagogical principles of the main subject.

 

 

 

Main subject aural training with concentration in music theory

Only possible in combination with instrumental and vocal main subject.

Written examination (Duration 180 mins)

Compulsory subject piano (Duration 10 mins)

 

 

 

Main subject aural training with concentration in aural training (Duration 15 mins)

Only possible in combination with instrumental and vocal main subject.
